Stella looks beat!

Awwww! Can I have one??? I'll go get it in a couple months!!

Hmmm, undecided between Snow White, Miele and Cioccolatino...

Just kidding, they'll send me to sleep in the piazza if I bring a puppy with me :)

Alyndabear, I *know* you've always wanted to visit southern Italy anyway....

Gil, I'm tellin' ya! The poor thing. Yesterday she came upstairs and sat on my lap for a good half hour--the first I've really seen her for an extended period of time since the birth. Good to know she still needs her Mamma ;)

Roamer, Bianca Neve looks like s/he's going to be a big one...I'm sure they'd just *love* to have a puppy around where you're going. Well, keep it in mind anyway ;)

Awwww, how is Luna holding up? Does she seem jealous at all? She went from being the center of attention to 7 more family members! lol

Giulia, Luna has been really great. The way the house is set up works to keep her away from the puppies (Luna's afraid of the steps to go downstairs where they are), so she is just *dying* to see them. It'll be interesting to see what happens as they get bigger....

Aaaaaahhhhhhwwwwww, how cute! Thanks for the update! How is Luna *reacting* to all of this?

Robin, she's bee just wonderful, although she does annoy Stella whenever Stella makes her way up her--Luna *always* wants to play, and not surprisingly, Stella? Not so much.

Blogger Texas Espresso said...

they are so cute. I can't wait to see them bigger, playing around. hehe poor Stella does look exhausted. will she let you touch the babies?

Blogger SUEB0B said...

Ah, what a pretty mama.

Is Stella a good mommy? One of my dogs became a mom and didn't want to nurse them.
BTW, I love your ceci recipe. That grated cheese on top makes it familiar to me.

Blogger Minnie said...

I was going to ask for new pictures of Stella today!
They are TOO CUTE. Have you found homes for them? (I know it'll be a while, I was just curious.)

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Makes me happy to see these photos Sognatrice! Did you find good people for your pups?

TEspresso, she won't let us touch them yet, but yesterday she let us both touch HER while she was in the box with them...we're getting somewhere now ;)

Sueb0b, isn't she just precious?

Maryann, she's a great mommy! She runs out to go to the bathroom and then right back in and down with them. Glad you enjoyed the recipe :)

Minnie, happy to satisfy your Stella urge ;) We have a good home ready for one of them so far...working on the rest (although last night P hinted that he wanted to keep one!).

Rochambeau, and I'm happy that you're happy! So far, one good home and we don't care as long as it takes to find GOOD homes, so we may end up with quite a few pups around for quite a while....

They are just precious! Stella seems to be a wonderful mom :-)

AWWW!!! I'm melting here with the cuteness! I so want a puppy!

I love that first picture; she looks so protective of them! Awww, puppies!

Congratulations mamma!
They are darling and I would love to come to Calabria for one of them, but our two dogs at home have told me no.
Look forward to more photos!

Wow! So cute. Congratulations. What did you name all of them?

Blogger deedee said...

Oh la la...I wish I could have a puppy!

oooohhhh puppies :-)

I love them so much!

Oh I wish I wasn't allergic.
How will you ever give them away?
I must apologize for not sending proper birthday wishes, but I was so out of it for more than a week.
Waving at you from New York,
Frances

Love the pics! They are all so sweet.
Wish I could snuggle them!

Congratulations!!! Are there 3?? They are so cute!!

They're absolutely adorable. And I'm glad to hear that Luna is doing OK. I thought she might be a little put out. That's a sign of a good doggy mommy (You, not Luna) that she's not jealous.

The first photo is so sweet! The puppies are adorable. Oh, I really want one!

Gill, Stella is definitely impressing me!

Karina, yeah the cuteness factor is pretty high around here these days....

Janet, she's *so* protective! I'm wondering when the day will come that we can touch them.

Sandy, you couldn't stop me from posting puppy photos if you tried ;)

Novelist, isn't she just adorable? She's a pretty good photo-poser as well ;)

Jennifer, aw, the more the merrier!

Anonymous, no names yet. We're going to at least wait until we can determine the sex--Italian names are pretty strict about that, so it's best to wait ;)

Meredith, I wish you could have a puppy too! One from Calabria!

Tina, I know the feeling ;)

Frances, no worries about the birthday; I know you were way under the weather. Allergic to dogs? The horror! Wish us luck in adopting them out; I don't think it'll be easy :(

Scarlett, I wish *I* could snuggle them!

Friend, I already saw your other comment so you know there are SIX. Ah!

MB, why thank you, but Luna is really a good-tempered dog, so we've been lucky there. In fact, she drives Stella nuts with wanting to play all the time....

KC, definitely a maternal first photo, huh? I don't know...new baby...new puppy...sounds like fun to me ;)

What an awesome couple of pictures! There is nothing like puppies or baby animals of any kind. You must be so busy right now! Thanks for sharing. Puppy licks to Stella, Luna and the babies!

So adorable! As soon as we move out of this apartment, we are getting a DOG! Or two. I love pets, and miss having them! Great pics with that new camara! :) Oh, yeah, and Happy Birthday! You'd fit right in with my October-birthday family.

they are too cute!! Stella must be exhausted.

What gorgeous photos!

Cuuuuute! Love those photos!

Puppissimo! (If it isn't a word, it should be.)

I want both of the multi-colored ones. Can't have any, but want them anyway.

Blogger S. Kearney said...

aaaauuuuwwwwwgggghhhhhh! :-)

Jenn, well, I have to say that being sure that Stella eats and goes out and does all that stuff is really the most time-consuming--she's taking care of the pups just fine. Eyes still close as I type this (they're 10 days old today!) :)

Waiting, I think you and your family are just going to *love* having a dog around! Go October bdays!

NYC, you could really see how tired Stella was for the first week or so afterwards; now she's easing back into being herself...she's still a puppy at only 10 months old or so!

Jen, thanks :)

Bonggamom, glad you enjoyed!

Sara, I love your word!

Shameless, you took the letters right out of my mouth ;)

Oh wow! They are just so beautiful. Belated congratulations to you all.

When my little Maisy had pups (EIGHT!) she was great and didn't mind me handling them at all. When it came time to find then new homes, they were happy to be picked up by their prospective new families and it made such a difference.

The father of the pups was totally disinterested after his second visit to their pen! He did look fairly amused when he met them in a kind of 'where did they come from way'!

Elle

Elle, thanks! We don't have a daddy in the picture (Stella was found already pregnant and abandoned on the side of the road, so who knows where she even came from), so no issues there.

Indeed, now she is letting me touch the babies--I think the biggest problem was that she hadn't even been with us 2 months yet when she delivered, so she was just starting to develop trust in us to begin with. Now, though, she lets me pet them :)

If you were a tiny bit closer (we have the Adriatic separating-or uniting us) I would beg for a puppy!

Irene, Adriatic Schmadriatic...come on over and get a puppy ;)

Oh my goodness. The puppies are so adorable. Stella and Luna both look wonderful too. These pictures have definitely made my day.

Happy Fall Season. :D :D :D :D

MBunny, so happy you came over to see them...more soon when the open their eyes :) Happy Fall to you as well!
