I just read about De-Lurking Week over at Miss Zoot's place, and I find it a lovely idea.
Today begins De-Lurking Week in which you are encouraged to comment on blogs that you normally read but don't often comment on. I, myself, am a frequent lurker, but I've been trying to de-lurk more lately, mostly because now as a blogger, I know how much comments mean to me.
Now, as Miss Zoot notes, please don't feel pressured to write anything thought-provoking--even incomplete sentences count. It's well known that the Spelling and Grammar Police go on vacation during De-Lurking Week, so something as simple as "Me no lurky more" is completely acceptable. Don't be shy!
And I'm also going to follow Miss Zoot's lead in donating $1 for each comment to this post and all successive posts this week to charity. Mine will be The American Lung Association in honor of my grandmother, a heavy smoker whose 83rd birthday would've been later this month.
Let's de-lurk together.

I don't believe I am technically a lurker as I have commented on your blog before, but here is a comment for you! I hope you get lots of comments because I have lost several family members to cancer and fully support the ALA.
never knew there was a name for it...
Ooh! I think this is a great idea! I do believe I'm going to follow your lead and do the same thing. Cheers!
de-lurking is a lovely idea. i'm a frequent commenter, so i guess i should clam up a little? or inspire more to blab like me:)
Nothing much to say, and I'm not much of a lurker, but I applaud the idea!
I have been lurking on your blog for about 2 weeks. I am so glad I found it! It is now one of my favorite reads. Keep up the good work; I look forward to future pics and posts.
ciao ciao
You have an adorable little blog here. I've been checking in for about two weeks now. Lots of love to you and P.
ciao.
Hey! How about an RSS feed so I can stick you on my home page?
I stumbled onto you by hitting the "next blog" button and I have been enjoying reading about you from north Alabama.
Ban cigarettes as they only make the wrong sick and rich.
never been a lurker myself :)
your stories and pictures of daily village life make me want to move there......now!!! But reading your blog will have to do for a while yet. So glad you're blogging.
Ok, I'm in on this too, great way to raise money for charity!!
Well great...I just discovered your blog last week (love it!), and have yet to post a comment. Now you're going to think I'm only doing it because of de-lurking week! ;-)
I'm guilty as charged! I stumbled across your blog after visiting others... and I am a huge fan! Keep up the great work!
-->Pittsburgh"er" who misses traveling!
I'm a happy lurker :-) but if it's for charity...
I'm a big lurker when work is slow. Now that the holidays are over I won't lurk so much!!
I also know how interesting it is to see comments on your blog.
