love thursday: chased by a cloud part II

Remember when I posted a photo of a heart-shaped cloud that snuck into a photo of a cactus I was taking? If not, you can find it here.

This morning as I was working on yet another last minute translation project (seems to be the only kind this particular organization gives me), I looked outside of my balcony door and saw this:

Can you see a heart?
P tells me I'm crazy, but I see one in there.

To the left of that was this:

Now there you see a heart, right?

To the right was this:

Which I maintain is an angel or fairy with big strong wings, but
feel free to tell me what you see.

And while you're at it, for fun, what do you see here?

(besides the ugly roof and satellite dish)

I have some ideas but I want to hear you you think first--
and no, my thoughts don't involve hearts.

And yes, I did finish the translation, thankyouverymuch.

Happy Love Thursday everyone!

I see the hearts! And a butterfly. Not sure about the last one though! My kids and I love cloud shape games.

Blogger Alla said...

hmmm the last one looks like donald duck floating on his back?

I totally see the first heart, though it looks a little squashed, like a heart that's been stepped on.

I don't have my glasses on, but the winged thing looks to me like a dragonfly with butterfly wings, and the last one looks like a crab reaching out one claw for some reason.

The two you asked about, the first one looks like a skull and crossbones (sorry, this is what popped into my head). The last one is either a seahorse on its back, or a mermaid laying on her side.

And I saw all the hearts that you did!

I hate to say it but I kind of like the last picture the best, because you can see the typical italian rooftops! :)

I totally see the hearts. belle foto

I suspect you may already be a member of this organization, but if not, you should know that there are people out there who can help you!

I definitely see the hearts, and I agree with ambra celeste that the next one is a butterfly. As for the last one, I'm thinking reclining mermaid. :-)

hmmm.... to me it looks like love is in the air; love and lobster.

You make me long to travel. Your pictures are just so lovely.

Hope you are enjoying your summer.

I definitely see the hears. I thought the angel one looked distinctly like a bird. The last one, I definitely see a rooster in the whispy bit on the left.

Blogger Kristen said...

i see the hearts, too!!!

Elvis is leaned back on his elbows (his nose looks big). He's the fat Elvis--his belly is huge. He's examining the heart cloud that has appeared on his feet.

Did I eat drugs for breakfast or something??

Blogger Giulia said...

I see the hearts. Tell P he needs to look harder!
That last one looks like a human lounging, erm floating, peacefully until the jutting satellite dish pokes him in the back and causes him to open his mouth and scream in pain!
My imagination ran wild on that last one. lol

I see the hearts and the last one looks like a dinosaur! Great pics!

Wow! love those hearts.
Get used to last minute translation -- I understand the only kind you'll find here!

Beautiful! I do see the hearts!

Pillsbury dough boy and then a crab.

Ok.....I'm still hungry from the bruchetta!!!

1-heart, 2-heart again!, 3-angel, butterfly or fairy, 4-(don't laugh...)jeannie just starting to come out of a lamp!!! (did you make a wish??)

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I see the heart. I also see a person flexing their arm muscle. How strange is that?? I'm a huge cloud surfer so this was fun!

Blogger Tui Snider said...

I see the hearts, too! In the last one, I see a squirrel (on the right) blithely nibbling on some clouds while a little bird (on the left) squawks at him.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Love is definitely in the air. Hearts are all around you. The last picture...a crab. Great pictures.

Bellissimo!!!!

I see a man lying on his back, looking at his feet.

LOVE (pun intended, here) the heart shaped clouds.

Hope you're having an excellent Thursday!

Definitely see the hearts.

I don't know why, but the last one put me in mind of Faldor, the luck dragon from The Neverending Story. =)

Blogger Shan said...

Yep sure do see a heart. The last one I'm thinking looks a little mermaidesque. Of course that could be because we've been watching the Little Mermaid in a continuous loop here lately.

Ok...I see the hearts, but the only thing I can come up with on the last one is Cape Cod.....ok I'm a New Englander :)

Blogger GoteeMan said...

Very cool. thanks for sharing those.
J.

I see the hearts too and agree with the Cape Cod similarity in the last one. But my 1st thought when I saw your last photo was of an elf slipper. I think I may have had the same breakfast as Marmite Breath. :)

Blogger Scribbit said...

Definitely pretty--fun that you were able to capture it. I always find myself without a camera in those situations.

Blogger deedee said...

The cloud in the last photo looks like a giant crab. You are definitely followed by hearts in the sky!

Blogger The Moon Topples said...

I guess it's just me, but in the last one I distinctly saw the Road Runner from the cartoon. Perhaps a wider-angle lens might have revealed a scheming coyote behind him.

OK, you have outdone yourselves here! I love that so many of you played along with my cloud gazing.

John, I'm not a member of the Cloud Appreciation Society, but I'll definitely check it out; thanks!

Now, the photos:

On the first two, I'm very relieved that so many of you saw the hearts; I feel slightly more normal now.

On the third photo in which I saw a fairy/angel, I see that wings were a common theme--bird, dragonfly, butterfly. But Scott, I completely see the skull and crossbones as well. Wonder what that says about you ;)

Interesting that the last one brought out so many images connected with the sea--lobster, crab, mermaid, Cape Cod!

And also a lot of people reclining--Marmite Breath, you didn't listen to my plea from your last comment, and I was left spitting out iced coffee once again. (Sadly,) I totally see Elvis with a big nose now that you said it. Elf slipper, check! Dragon/dinosaur, yes!

But the one who came closest to describing what I saw at first is....Mental Mosaic. On the right, I see a cat (from the side), its bum up in the air as it hisses at a squawking bird on the end of a branch on the left.

MM, I don't know whether to congratulate you or feel sorry for you for being on my wavelength ;)

This was so much fun! We may have to play Cloud Gazing more often around here.....

Hah, Moon Topples, too bad I don't have another photo...I'm sure that Wile E. is close behind!

Blogger Mauryn said...

i saw the bird at the end of a branch too. and the crab.

i'm strange, but this reminds me of denis leary who in one of his bits made fun of devoutly catholic mexicans who would see religious images reflected in highway signs, blueberry muffins...maybe the virgin mary will appear in your bruschetta!!

kidding aside, the cloud shape game is fun!

i really enjoy your blog!

Mauryn, if I ever see the Virgin Mary in my bruschetta, you'll definitely hear about it on the news--sorry to say I'd bypass the blog and go straight the Italian media on that one! Thanks for stopping by :)

Blogger Karina said...

I definitely see the hearts, and that other one is either a bird or a butterfly...the last one to me looks like a rooster or big bird or something...kind of lying on it's belly...blowing smoke out of it's mouth? I don't know! lol

OH, I've nominated you for an award, pop on over to collect it!

I love that you look at clouds. I'm actually working on a children's book right now that is a collection of adventures in a 'cloud kingdom' with several different characters all made of clouds... my rule though is that none of the characters can be made up... I have to have seen them for myself hiding up the in clouds at least once, and I have some really cool characters floating through the book!

Love the hearts, that's so great!
lots of love thursday!

The last one... hmmm, it looks like Serendipity (remember her? small purple dinosaur type creature from kids books when we were in elementary school... I want to say she had green spots on her back) anyway- looks like Serendipity looking back over her shoulder while she's swimming around in the water. Kind of like the Loch Ness monster... no?

Have a WONDERFUL weekend.

Scarlett & Viaggiatore

Wow, I'm the 40th commenter, you're one popular lady, Sognatrice!

I love people who see things in clouds. I think it's great for the soul and for creativity to let your mind wander. And I saw all the hearts immediately! I also saw an angel where you did.

As for the last photo... it's either Mickey Mouse on the right, or, it's a monster-like creature chasing a poor little mouse. (Maybe I need to log on to the "Cloud Appreciation Society" too... I think I'm taking this a bit too far!)

Blogger Erin said...

I was taking pictures of clouds today, too! I see a crab in the last one. Although the more I study it the less I see, that was just my first impression. Funny!

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I definitely see the hearts. And that last one is totally the Loch Ness Monster.

Karina, thanks for the award. It's so funny that so many saw someone/something reclining in that last photo...a little summer action ;)

Scarlett, I know exactly who Serendipity is and I definitely see her/him/it(?) in the cloud. And you've just convinced me that we're even more alike than I thought b/c I have been thinking of a children's book with clouds for the longest time--I could never really work out how to format it though. I *love* your idea! Best of luck! If you need any photos or other input, do let me know ;)

Shelley, actually my first thought was a creature (a cat) chasing a bird, so we weren't thinking that differently. You know it's funny about cloud watching for me--I don't even intend to do it. I think I just have a natural wandering mind (or you know, an attention deficit disorder). I could spend hours appreciating clouds...you'd think I might want to be a pilot or something to get me closer, but I rather like the view from here ;)

Erin, I find the same thing happens with me! The more you look, the less you see...hmm....

Guinness girl, I just *knew* it existed! Thanks for commenting :)

Anonymous Anonymous said...

I definitely saw a genie coming out of a lamp on that last one. i love your cloud pictures!

Blogger bonggamom said...

Amazing, hearts just seem to follow you everywhere! I too saw a heart-shaped cloud a couple of weeks ago (didn't have my camera with me, though) and I immediately thought of that first post with the cloud and the cactus :)

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sognatrice and 40th commenter, I also saw a cat chasing a mouse or bird. I have three cats, what can I say!

I love your site and am reading Eat Pray Love since you mentioned it. Great book.

Thanks for the cloud game!

Enza, so happy you like them. I hope you made three wishes!

Bongga mom, how funny that you thought of my little photo when you saw the heart cloud. This Internet thing is crazy I tell you!

Clairvoyant, thanks for playing the game! I love cats, but I don't have any now (a gorgeous doggie instead); perhaps that's why *I* look for them in the sky ;)

I hope you're enjoying Eat, Pray, Love; I really liked it--and I keep saying I'll write a review sooner or later...and I will...sooner or later ;)

I hope you'll be back :)
