puppies in residence

Back by popular demand--puppies!

Well the little ones aren't so little anymore. Indeed, they'll be seven weeks old on Saturday, which means they are only a week away from being adopted out.

Sniff sniff.

We have found homes for five of the six, at least on the future caretakers' words. One of these is so excited that she's been asking me for a couple weeks already when she can come and take hers (one of the two that look like Stella). I'm staying firm on the eight-week mark though, so she'll just have to wait until next weekend.

I haven't posted photos, but the pups have been staying in what P calls their "residence" (seriously, in English but with an Italian accent) that I whipped up for them one afternoon. They have specified places to eat, sleep, play, and do the other stuff they need to do, and they're getting increasingly better at understanding which are which. This helps with housebreaking in their new homes, they say, so I thought it was worth a try.

Here are five of them (the fifth is a blur behind the two up on the mini-wall) wondering why I chose the sixth to let out of the residence to play with Mamma and me. They all get their turns, of course, but not all at once. That'd be crazy.

puppies!
And here is the chosen one of the moment in an intimate scene with Stella. Yes I played with this a bit in Photoshop. Could've played for a lot longer, but alas, life calls.

Wouldn't you love a painting like this?

Mamma and puppy
Happy Love Thursday everyone!

And hug a puppy if you can. If not, I've got it covered.

P.S. Don't forget to head over to Shelley's place for today's Dolce Italiano Contest recipe, Chocolate and Tangerine Semifreddo. Looks *fabulous*!

That's good you have found homes for almost all of them. Awww.... It's going to be a little quiet when they go away. More pics before they leave I hope. :) Can never have too much puppie love.

AWW, they are so cute! I love the photoshopped picture, it really is beautiful. And I got to hug a puppy yesterday. My brother's new pup is the sweetest thing, and I was over there yesterday giving hugs and getting kisses.

Your puppies are so so cute. I love the white one. Give him a hug for me. Thanks for sharing.

Very very cute. We may be 'adopting' on in the new year, although maybe it will be a dog rather than a puppy.
Cheers

Oh my GOSH they are so cute!
HA!
Thanks for sharing them, I just wish I could reach through the screen and rub their ears.

And take one home.

;o)

Scarlett & Viaggiatore

I must close the laptop before my girl comes over and fawns over the puppies - then, the begging begins.

(Thanks for your kind words today.)

That group picture is killing me! They are SO adorable that I want to reach right in and covet one for myself. I don't envy you having to give any of them up, although I do understand that would be quite the crowded household if you kept them. But, still.... :-)

Oh my goodness ... sooo sooo cute. It makes me think for one split second... "ohhhh, wouldn't a puppy be great??" and then, thankfully - I come back to my senses.
Two is enough. In this house, with the kids and the cat... two is PLENTY.

*walk away Beanie, walk away... do not look back at those sweet precious faces... don't do it...*

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! I luuuuuuurve puppays!

Aw, seeing those puppy pics makes me yearn to have a dog again. Since I don't -I'm stuck with two cats here, one senile, forgets where she is supposed to go potty and prefers (too often) the floor in front of the kitchen sink or the stove) but who is still a beautiful ball of fluff at 16 years and an ornery little orange cat who apparently likes to bedevil me by snatching ornaments off the Christmas tree or curling up on top of a small buffet in the dining room where she knocks over the pictures there as well as the Swedish wooden candlestick holders brought out for the holiday decorations. Cats are nice, I do like them and all but my first preference is having a dog!

They are absolutely adorable! Glad to hear they're adopted out, but I'm sure you'll miss them too.

*NYC, agreed :)

*Cheeky, the white one is *so* precious. She's usually very quiet but excited to see me, wanting to come out and play :)

*Karina, you're so lucky to be a puppy auntie--that's the best! All the fun without the mess ;)

*Flutter, I tend to agree ;)

*-R-, puppy is "cucciolo" (KOO-choh-loh) in Italian. Even the word is cute!

*Kerith, the puppies would be privileged!

*Jenn, I do hope you get a puppy; my childhood was definitely enriched by small creatures. The white one is actually a girl, and she loves hugs :)

*Maddy, it's great that you might be adopting a dog--they are much harder to adopt out as I'm sure you know. In fact, the only other actual puppy I've had in my life were those when our female dog gave birth when I was little, but we only ever kept one of those. This is definitely an interesting experience :)

*Sara, oh they're definitely wigglers. Some more than others, of course.

*Sandy, you're right, I'm really going to miss those yelps :(

*Janet, hah! Italian? You think? They're starting to understand English....

*Jen, I'd love to see those photos!

*Giovanna, I always look for an excuse to hug my puppies, even the big puppies (who some might call dogs) ;)

*Eryn, puppy hugs all around!

*Alyndabear, if only that one would always be so calm. She's not the most active, but she's up there....

*Kathy, I was so relieved the other day when P started rattling off names of people who have requested pups. Good people, thank goodness.

*Maryann, Stella and I are learning together here--it's been a lot of fun for me at least. I don't know how she feels ;)

*Nora, I knew you'd enjoy :)

*Scarlett, they wish the same!

*Lisa, puppy eyes *can* be pretty persuasive...do what you must!

*Christina, I'm not one who wishes for a big house on a huge plot of land, but for the puppies, I'd take it....

*Beanie, hah! Hope you've successfully walked away...puppyless!

*Katy, same here. Luna is almost three and Stella, we think, is about one year old, but they'll always be puppies to me :)

*Audra, you've changed your photo--how cute!

*Jeni, I know what you mean. I love cats too, and I've had my fair share, but my heart is with the pooches.

*MB, I just hope the new caretakers will let me visit....

Pat the tan one (left on photo) a top his/her cute little head for me.

Great mama and child picture/scene.

*Taffiny, that's precisely the one that drives me crazy...she's the master yipper but oh so cute ;)

They're so cute!
I would be playing with puppies all day long.
Much bloglove,

*Frances, I have to admit that this morning was spent mostly with the puppies...until they fell asleep in my lap. Awwwwwwww ;)

Blogger S. Kearney said...

Ohhhhhh .... how sad they have to leave. I hope they go to BRILLIANT homes where there's lots of love and fun! :-)

*Shameless, we're doing our darnedest to make sure the homes are just that :)

Blogger Coleen said...

I haven't checked in for a while. The puppies are getting bigger and cuter! Are they still with their Mama or have they gone on to their new homes?

*Coleen, just in time for you...a new puppy post :)
