weekend o' cookies continues

You've now seen four of the six types of cookies I made this holiday season. What? No you haven't?

Well go here to see the thumbprints (with recipe!), here to see the kolaches, and here to see the chocolate chip and ricotta cookies.

Here are the final two starting with the scene of making the butter cookies:

And here they are after baking:

And, last but certainly not least, Michigan Rocks full of dates and walnuts:

michigan rocks
And here's a tray ready for delivery:

Well really a red plastic plate covered in blue plastic wrap, tied together with a gold bow. It's easier to see the cookies through the wrap in person by the way.

And now I ask you:

can anything else say "AUGURI!" like a plate of American cookies?

I didn't think so either.

By the way, if anyone would like recipes for these, just send me an email.

So is everyone ready for Christmas or what?

Awesome cookies!
Merry Christmas, and no, I'm not ready yet, but almost :)

You're going to deliver a plate on up to me too, right? I'll be waiting! ;) I'll be doing some baking myself tonight. But, I stop at one version of cookie... chocolate chip. That's my limit.

*running to get a nice tall glass of milk ready* :)

Wishing you, P, Luna and Stella a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

I have one of those thingummies hiding at the back of the cupboard somewhere. I only used it the once and nearly broke my hand off - you need the strength of a body builder to use one of those.
Best wishes

This is my calling card or link"Whittereronautism"which takes you straight to my new blog.

Very Yummy! we've done our share of baking this year, and it's always wonderful, isn't it? :)

Buon Natale!

*Meredith, thanks, and you still have plenty of time to get fully prepared ;)

*Giulia, magari! I think after this escapade I'm going to have to keep a steady supply of chocolate chips around for whenever the mood strikes. They are *far* too good to eat only once a year! Thanks for your wishes, and I pass along the same to you :)

*Frances, aha! Then I'm doing my job ;) Happy holidays!

*Qualcosa, fabulous to-do list! In the home stretch now :)

*Robin, so fun! And you're welcome to any of my cookies that you'd like :)

*Maddy, you mean the cookie press? I think your dough was probably too hard if you had trouble pulling the trigger--I noticed that as my dough sat, the harder it got, and the harder using the machine got too. But at the get go with pretty sticky dough, it was actually really easy.

*Roamer, sure is! This is the first time I've ever made a production of it myself and it was *so* worth it :)

I've been remiss about commenting lately, but I wanted to wish you and P (and your lovely girls) a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Yar. (I suppose I could fix that typo, but I sort of like it. Very pirate-y. So in that spirit: Feliz Navidad, Matey!) (Actually, I haven't been drinking; why do you ask?)

Your little flowers, both the round-petaled and the pointy-petaled, are so perfectly perfect! Are you using molds for some of them, or the press for all of them?

I'm with Maddy. I've never been able to get a press to work, either. But my mom had this thing that was like a rolling pin covered with little molds. You ran it over the dough, and it both cut and sculpted it into dozens of perfect tiny cookies.

Yummy.

Stopping by and de-lurking to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas!

*Sabine, they sound absolutely delicious! Happy holidays!

*The OG, ahoy lady! Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Happy holidays :)

*Sara, it's all the press and it's really easy. I just happened to find one here (wasn't even really looking because I didn't expect to find one) and it's of the "gun" variety. My mom has one that just twists and she has even more success, being able to make the cookies smaller. The trick really is the dough I think--it has to be pretty soft and sticky. If you want the recipe for those I can pass it along!

That rolling pin contraption sounds cool! Next year I'll make some cutouts with old-fashioned cookie cutters--but my mom has to send me some first b/c the ones that I found here were all so boring.

*Joy, ciao! Nice to see you and I hope you and your family have a lovely holiday season :)

Merry Christmas!

*Jenn, finally a baking supply that I can find in Italy that is hard to find in America! Sorry. I can send you some :)

*Nino, the butter cookies are definitely one of my favorites--especially since my mom came up with a little change in the recipe....
