For some Friday fun, click here to read

as composed by none other than...me (there's the shameless self promotion part).

Come on. You know you're dying to know what *that's* all about.

And here's another photo of my village from the archives.

Thank you for sharing this special post with us !!!
I hope Britney will hear about that !!!

Hee hee... that was cute. I don't even know what to think about that poor girl anymore. One thing is certain though, she is not well. I hope that she gets it together soon, for her sake and more importantly, her children's sake!

Very cute article, creative! Poor Britney. I watched the performance after the news was going around the Internet, and I think if there hadn't been so much "OMG it's so horrible" going around, I probably would have just thought she was having a bad day or was tired. I mean, it wasn't THAT bad, was it? Seems like the poor girl can't do anything right anymore as far as the press is concerned. She should just retire and go raise her kids in the country somewhere.

Makes me want to go and check on my tomato plants just to make sure they're feeling my support!

Hey, fantastic idea your Britney-tomato comparison. That's a simple lesson. Her manager should give her your URL!

Mélanie, well I doubt it'll make it to Britney, but I sure hope someone's advice does!

Giulia, I agree; I too hope she just gets some help for the sake of her kids.

Shelley, I don't know. To me, it was pretty awful, but you're right--the press is just all over her ALL THE TIME. In that sense, I do feel for her.

Karen, you'll need to listen *very* closely!

Suzie, and the best part for Britney? The advice is free!

all jokes aside, I do feel for her kids. she needs to get off the drugs, move out of los angeles, forget about her "comeback" and take care of herself.

funny...but philosophically sound too. you made some very good points.

that poor girl. i'm with shelley here

Beautiful picture and I commented on your tomato site ;-)

Lol, you are too funny :-)

That was a great post! I commented over there, but wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed it.

I love the picture in this post too.

NYC, exactly. Agreed 100%.

Qualcosa, thanks; although it's tongue-in-cheek, the general advice is rather serious.

Jen, B-A, and Karina, thanks and thanks and more thanks :)

Poor girl, at first I found her "mistakes" annoying, but now it's just plain sad.

Yes, at this point she should even learn from tomatoes!

Very creative "self promotion" :) Brava :)

I really feel sorry for these girls. TV adds pounds to anyone. Britney and others believe the critics that say they are fat then they give up eating. I thought she looked better than some of the walking skeletons. The whole bunch of these stars should just leave and spend all of the money they have already before they end up dead. Maybe, you could open a rehab center in Calabria??

Blogger sognatrice said...

Farfallina, I went through the same process--at first I just rolled my eyes, but now I think we can all (on the outside) see that it's serious. Very sad.

Gil, agreed. They have so much pressure on them and from such a young age--it's really no wonder they end up with all kinds of bad habits.

You know there actually *is* a rehab center near me, but it's not nearly posh enough to attract the celebs, but seriously? You have a pretty good idea there....

Love the view of Italy, your home!

As for Britney, I cannot imagine a young woman with so much power, talent, and ablity just losing herself to the media. It is sad. I hope she gets her act together and uses it to do good.
God help it if i ever got on stage in a two piece...I thought she looked good. Not as striking in her performance maybe, but we can all have an off day, or ten can't we?

Blogger sognatrice said...

Corey, glad you like the photo! As for having an off day, apparently, no that's not possible for anyone in the public eye :(

You are too creative!

Poor Britney.

I have to say that I absolutely love that picture. What an incredible view.

I've always wondered what tomatoes could teach us! What a great life lesson, not just for that poor lost girl, but for all of us. Well done!

Blogger Live From Tuscany said...

Ha, that was a great list! One thing I like about being a new expat is that I can tune stuff out easily, such as the Britney mess. That doesn't mean I didn't eventually try to watch it online... but I saw the headlines for a couple days and just ignored it for a while.

Blogger sognatrice said...

Jeni, well, or just rather obsessed with tomatoes ;)

Nadine, glad you liked the photo!

Susan, tomatoes are real teachers--who knew?

Live, it *is* great to pick and choose your "news," isn't it?

Love Luna & Stella, it was obviously her lucky day when she came to live with you.

Blogger Bonggamom said...

Wonderful post! I hope Brit takes the tomato's advice :)

Blogger Rebecca said...

You got me laughing in the morning.....

Blogger sognatrice said...

AV, why thanks! I think Stella's pretty happy here :)

Bonggamom, well there are certainly *worse* things she could do, aren't there?

Rebecca, happy to oblige!

Blogger stefanie said...

That's excellent advice for most of us, not just Britney. Well done.

Long, deep sigh.

What an absolutely beautiful place.

Thank you more than I can say, for sharing it with us so well.

This is incredibly accurate. I wish that us 'regular' girls could have a bit of an intervention with Britney. My heart goes out to her.

Blogger sognatrice said...

Stefanie, thanks :)

Scarlett, you're very welcome!

Tori, you hit on a good point--if only she could have more every day people around her who *don't* want a piece of her....
